Napa - Thursday - 9/15/16

Pool day today! Solage is known to have one of the best pools in all of Napa, so we made sure to plan at least one full day doing nothing but lounging poolside. Upon waking I prepared a yummy breakfast for us (see below). While eating in bed, we decided to take our bikes out for spin and explore the town of Calistoga a bit.

Breakfast - these pastries from Bouchon were tasty but the macaroons were out of this world

Scenes biking on the Silverado Trail. There is a bike path but it was still scary riding so close to the trucks and cars speeding by

Random vineyard we rode by near our resort

Indian Springs is a popular resort in Calistoga. We parked our bikes and walked around briefly to check it out because we had considered staying there

Calistoga is famous for their hot springs. Pretty cool!

Indian Springs Resort is well-known for their Olympic sized mineral pool. We walked up to check it out in person because I had heard rave reviews. It was very nice but didn't compare to our pool at Solage.

The main strip in Calistoga was underwhelming at best. I would only visit if I was staying nearby

Cute little depot in town

After our bike ride, I went for a quick run. This is me taking a picture in my running clothes

Time for the pool! Our cottage was very close to the entrance

View of the mountains from my lounge chair

Remarkable pool - almost Olympic sized but not quite

What a marvelous setting for the day

Definitely enjoyed the Jacuzzi a few times

Taken from the other end of the pool - no one was there because I took these photographs early morning

Sol Bar's outdoor seating area faces the pool

In case you need to take a nap...lol

I was definitely a little tired after biking and running

We brought our own bottle of champs to the pool - wishing I was there now

Eric ordered a refreshing frozen beer from the pool bar

Taking a dip in the warm waters

The staff walked around and gave everyone a frozen daiquiri sample

It was SOOO DELICIOUS

After we finished the champagne, we brought our own bottle of wine. Always saving money!

We had the BEST time spending all day lounging, talking, drinking, relaxing, and people watching in the most beautiful atmosphere

I ordered a salad from the pool bar and it was mouth-watering! Get in my belly!

Must have my bread

Eric's shrimp lettuce wraps

After eating, we spent HOURS swimming and goofing around before finally heading back to our room.

I live for vacations like this!
